This advanced tutorial detals compositing techniques through the construction of the "Desert Dancer" image that places a figure shot in the studio into a new environment. This project utilizes the "Extract" feature of Photoshop 7 along with alpha channels, layer masks, smudge tool, "Liquefy", "Clouds" filter, transform selection, feather selection, Adjustment layers and gradients.

Techniques for drop shadows and lighting effects will be presented. We closely examine the features of the "Extract" dialog, especially the use of the "touch up" tools. The tutorial is 31 pages with numerous illustrations and screen shots – 2.0 MB download.
